Our
Weyify POS by Weight app allows you to sell products by weight through Shopify's POS apps for iOS and Android. It is fully integrated with our
Weyify IBW (Inventory by Weight) app, so you can also centrally manage your weighable inventory whether the product is sold through the POS or you online store.
Getting Started
If you are using Weyify IBW, then you have nothing else to configure to use POS by Weight. Just head over to our help section for Weyify IBW and
follow the instructions there.
If you're not using IBW, then it's easy to get started, just follow these instructions:
- Open the Weyify POS by Weight app in your Shopify Admin
- In the product list, check off the products that you want to sell by weight
- Click the "Add Weyify tag" button at the top.
That's it, you are now ready to start using the app on your Shopify POS device.
Adding Weyify POS by Weight to your Shopify POS
Next step is to install our app in Shopify POS by following these steps:
- At the bottom of the Shopify POS Smart Grid, click on "Add Tile".
- Select "Apps"
- Search for "Weyify POS by Weight"
- Click on "Add to Smart Grid"
Using Weyify POS by Weight
When your customer brings weighable products to purchase at your POS, just follow these steps to add the customers items through the Shopify POS:
- Click on the "Weyify POS by Weight" tile.
- In the "Add To Cart" section search for the product you want to add by typing in the product name or keying in its SKU number.
- Enter the weight indicated on your scale into the "Scale Weight" field, and if you want to automatically deduct the weight of your customers container, just add the container weight in the optional "Container" field, otherwise leave it empty.
- Click on "Add" and the weight being purchased will show in the cart on the right.
- Repeat the above steps for any other weighable products your customer is purchasing
- When you're done, just hit "Close" in the top left corner, and all the products you entered will now display in your Shopify POS cart.
You can repeat the above process as often as you like, while also entering standard non-weighable products, then checkout the customer as normal.
What is the "Container" box in Weyify POS?
For some shops like Zero Waste shops, customers often fill their own containers. If your customer is putting your product in their own container and they weighed the container before filling it, then you can enter the container weight and it will be deducted from the scale weight when being added to the cart.
What about inventory?
If you want to manage your inventory by weight, then get our
Weyify IBW app in the Shopify App store. We have
full instructions here on how to use it. With IBW we'll deduct the inventory for any sales you make through Weyify POS by Weight, as well as any orders placed through your online store.
